SUMMARY: The Senior Designer/Project Manager will work directly with internal/external designers to ensure quality design for development and redevelopment projects, maintain corporate standards and guidelines relating to design/brand, construction, accessibility and sustainability.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:
o Lead Interior Design projects under Director of Interior Design
o Responsible for overseeing new development, renovation and cap ex projects
o Review scope of services with Director of Interior Design for each project
o Responsible for handling review of drawings and specifications to ensure quality design is met
o Responsible for daily communication with design firms
o Ensure on time delivery of all documentation at each phase
o Responsible for coordinating approvals between design firms and Director of Interior Design
o Attend weekly project team meetings and provide written documentation to Director of Interior Design
o Travel to properties in and out of state. Attend site visits as required.
o Review of typical unit plans and implement innovative ideas on proper function of space and style
o Work with internal design team to select common area and unit finishes per project
o Reviewing shop drawings and attend coordination meetings as required
o Attend trade shows to gather new sources to stay on the cutting edge of design
o Visit design showrooms (NYC and other) to find the newest fabrics, materials, and FF&E
o Shop new comparable properties to keep in touch with changing trends in program and finishes

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
o Ability to work in team environments with good collaboration skills
o Ability to work independently with excellent reporting skills
o Ability to present ideas and express self verbally
o Ability to space plan and design thoughtful layouts
o Ability to work on large scale cap ex projects independently
o Proven organizational abilities and attention to detail
o Working knowledge of construction detailing, materials, methods and codes
o Comfortable in the production of documentation and delivery of project deliverables that are on time and budget
o Self-motivated
o Excellent communication skills and be comfortable interfacing with consultants, vendors and internal staff

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience:
o Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture from a CIDA accredited school
o 6+ years:experience in multi-family and/or hospitality
o Must be able to read plans, sketch to scale and convey ideas graphically
o Experience with furniture, fabrics, wallcovering, flooring, lighting and other material selections
o Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
o AutoCAD, Revit, and Photoshop required
o Leadership, communication and relationship-management skills
o Analytical and problem solving skills
o Understanding of creative process with excellent leadership and team building skills
o Experience in coordination with various consultants/trades, coordination between team members
o Logical and systematic qualities for problem solving
